Over the course of this unit, the students will be required to keep a poetry notebook, in which all of their assingments will be kept. This notebook will need to be a three-ring binder, and there is a particular organization that the students will be required to keep. The goal of the Notebook is threefold, 1) to teach the students a sense of organization, 2) a sense of responsiblity, and 3) to give them a place to keep all their work so the teacher doesn't have to listen to, every day, "Mr. Kilburn, where do I turn this in at?"

The Poetry Notebook serves as an assessment piece for the unit; at the end of the unit, the notebook will be collected and all the material graded according to a rubric also supplied.
